The chivalry can be grating at times, she'd be the first to say. But after a long day - or week or however long it takes - the familiarity and grace of it, is a welcome soothingness to her nerves.

They entertain company from time to time; the Brigadier and his wife are frequent visitors, and even Sarah Jane Smith stops by on ocassion (Bambera is convinced that Sarah envies her getting to keep her time traveler; nobody's ever envied Bambera before, so its a little disorienting).

Ancelyn has, if anything, Bambera thinks to herself, only one downside: when she wears velvet or lace, he slips and says she's being particularly Italian...or Byzantine. (not that he's complaining at the time, mind)
